Hello, I’m Judy Odhner!
I am the chef and owner behind The Alaskan Culinary Experience, where my passion for food meets Alaska’s wild beauty.
I began my culinary journey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management. After completing my program and gaining some hands-on experience, I took time to travel. First to Australia, then to Alaska…and I ultimately made Moose Pass, Alaska, my home.
Here I met my husband, Jan, and together we raised our two boys. While raising our family, I baked cheesecakes, cakes, and other desserts for local lodges in Moose Pass and Cooper Landing. After 14 years, that passion led us to the historic Seward train depot, where we started Zudy’s Cafe.
Zudy’s became known for my baked goods, but our sandwiches and soups quickly became just as popular. After 11 successful years, we sold Zudy’s, opening the door to a new chapter…
The Alaskan Culinary Experience is my opportunity to continue my love of hands-on cooking and the joy of food in a more personal way. Through this dining experience, I’m able to do what I love most – making people happy through meaningful meals that celebrate Alaska’s flavors.
